Working closely with cross-functional teams in Systems, Mechanical, and Test Engineering, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Europe’s future high-thrust rocket engines and in-space propulsion solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
○ Lead the Combustion Devices team, managing the design, analysis, and optimization of thrust chambers and combustion devices for advanced rocket engines.
○ Ensure thrust chamber designs meet stringent performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
○ Support the development of thrusters for in-space propulsion systems.
○ Stay abreast of industry trends to drive innovation in thrust chamber technology.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
○ Work closely with Systems, Mechanical, and Test teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of combustion devices within larger propulsion systems.
○ Plan and oversee testing and validation activities, analyzing test data and implementing design improvements.
○ Ensure all design and development activities are thoroughly documented and compliant with industry standards and regulations.

Program & Team Management:
○ Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver thrust chamber development milestones on schedule.
○ Conduct regular progress reviews and communicate project status to internal stakeholders.
○ Lead problem-solving efforts and implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
○ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.

Qualifications:
● Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
● Minimum of 3 years’ experience in thrust chamber or rocket engine development, with experience leading teams.
● Deep understanding of thrust chamber design, analysis, and optimization for liquid rocket engines.
● Strong knowledge of liquid propulsion systems, including aerospike and full-flow staged combustion technologies.
● Proficiency with advanced simulation tools (e.g., CFD, FEA) for fluid dynamics and structural analysis.
● Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for space propulsion.
● Proven experience managing complex development projects, including timelines, resources, and budgets.
● Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic yet hands-on approach.
● Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
● Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Bonus:
● Master’s or Ph.D. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
● Previous experience with European space propulsion projects.
● Knowledge of advanced materials and manufacturing techniques for combustion devices.
● Experience with cryogenic propellants and handling procedures.
● Proficiency in Spanish and/or French in addition to fluent English.

What the Client Offers:
● Competitive compensation package.
● Comprehensive health coverage.
● Generous paid time off, including vacation and holidays.
