Position Overview:
Take on a pivotal role in leading or supporting the delivery of space sustainability projects within a collaborative, matrixed project and engineering environment. You'll work with a range of teams—internally and externally—including engineering, bid/commercial, customers, and suppliers, to maintain the balance of quality, cost, schedule, and risk to achieve successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the design and delivery of complex space missions or project components, coordinating matrixed project and engineering teams.
- Plan and manage project review gates, including the production of associated deliverables.
- Ensure a balanced approach to quality, cost, schedule, and risk while delivering project outputs.
- Contribute to mission concept studies, technical packages, and bid activities in support of the broader business.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and program partners as needed to support project activities.
- Provide reporting and accountability to business and senior management.
Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of project/program management experience in the space or aerospace industries, with a track record of successful missions.
- Proactive, collaborative, and driven to achieve team success.
- Strong technical project management skills, including delivery, schedule, financial, and risk management.
- Experience leading teams and managing project review gates (e.g., PDR, CDR).
- Full mission lifecycle experience from requirements to operations.
- Knowledge of lean engineering, engineering processes, and standards (e.g., ECSS).
- High standards of integrity and strong negotiation skills.
- Technical degree required.
- Experience with spacecraft systems (e.g., GNC, C&DH, Propulsion) and awareness of AIV processes.
- Experience in supplier management, debris removal, and working with challenging customers or suppliers.
- Experience in bid support, financial accounting, quality assurance, or business development.
- Experience collaborating with international teams in a fast-paced environment.
