About the Role

About the Client:
Our client is a pioneering space technology company dedicated to developing advanced propulsion systems that will power the next generation of spacecraft. Driven by three core principles: exceptional efficiency, sustainability, and reusability; they are setting new standards in propulsion performance and cost-effectiveness. Renowned for transforming ambitious concepts into practical solutions, the company recently achieved a groundbreaking milestone by successfully demonstrating a fully 3D-printed advanced propulsion system, marking a significant step forward in next-generation rocket engine innovation.

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of rocket engine test campaigns, with a particular focus on liquid propulsion systems (cryogenic and storable). This is a key technical and operational leadership role contributing to the company’s growing reputation as a reference point in engine testing within the aerospace industry. Working closely with internal departments (Systems, Propulsion & Mechanical) and external partners, including ESA and national agencies, you will ensure the readiness and safety of cutting-edge test facilities while guiding the successful delivery of propulsion test programs.

Key Responsibilities:
● Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians responsible for test execution and facility operations.
● Act as the primary liaison between test operations and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on schedules, safety, and technical goals.
● Oversee daily operation and preventive maintenance of test facilities, ensuring operational readiness and regulatory compliance with quality standards.
● Lead the end-to-end process of liquid rocket engine testing, including planning, preparation, execution, and post test analysis.
● Define and implement test procedures, success criteria, and safety protocols in collaboration with the design and systems engineering teams.
● Prepare and maintain clear documentation including test plans, schedules, risk assessments, and detailed reports.
● Coordinate with engineering teams to upgrade or modify test infrastructure based on program needs.
● Ensure adherence to industry standards and internal quality procedures during all test-related activities.

Qualifications:

● Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace hardware development, preferably under ECSS or similar standards.
● Proven track record leading complex rocket engine test campaigns and managing test site operations.
● Strong technical understanding of cryogenic propulsion systems and test infrastructure.
 ● Proficient in test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and control systems.
● Hands-on experience in all phases of cryogenic engine testing from commissioning to post-test analysis.
● Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations relevant to high-pressure testing environments.
● Proficient in safety protocol implementation and the development of detailed test procedures to ensure reliable and secure operations.
● Deep experience and understanding of rocket engines is highly meritorious.
● Demonstrated ability to take initiative, coordinate across teams, and manage time-critical activities independently.
● Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a detail-oriented and safety-focused approach.
● Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish and/or French is a strong advantage.

What the Client Offers:

● Competitive compensation package.
● Comprehensive health coverage and wellness benefits.
● Generous paid time off, including vacation and public holidays.
● A collaborative, diverse work environment that values innovation and professional growth.
● Opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge propulsion programs with real industry impact.
● Access to company-sponsored training, events, and professional development initiatives.
● A chance to shape the future of rocket propulsion technology as part of a
mission-driven team.
