Position Overview: 
Our client seeks an Antenna Engineer for Telecom Payloads to support the expansion 
of the Telecom Satellite Payloads department. This role involves the design and 
platform accommodation of various antenna types, including TX/RX DRAs, reflector 
antennas with deployment mechanisms, and digital antennas for beamforming 
applications. 

Key Responsibilities: 
Proposal Phase: 
● Provide technical support in the creation of offers within the Telecom department. 
● Perform link budget analyses using in-house tools to determine system capacity 
and overall aggregated data rates. 
● Develop and elaborate payload approaches for telecom missions. 
● Calculate and create antenna patterns in the offer phase using analysis software 
(e.g., Grasp, SatSoft). 
● Conduct technical consultations and negotiations with antenna suppliers. 
● Contribute innovative ideas in the field of intelligent antennas, particularly for 
multibeam missions. 

Implementation Phase: 
● Develop analog and digital antennas for Telecom payloads based on customer 
specifications. 
● Conduct and support all antenna reviews for the telecom payload. 
● Support all subsystems related to electrical and mechanical antenna interfaces 
onboard a satellite. 
● Prepare all necessary documentation across different project phases (0, A, B, 
C/D, and E). 

Operational Phase: 
● Plan and execute payload In-Orbit Test (IOT) RF tests, focusing on antenna 
pattern measurements. 
● Serve as the point of contact for payload antennas throughout the satellite’s 
operational lifetime. 

Qualifications: 
● Master’s degree in RF or communication engineering, or an equivalent 
qualification. 
● Strong understanding of high-frequency technology and its components, 
including amplifiers, LNA, waveguides, and converters. 
● Initial experience in measuring antennas in a Compact Antenna Test Range 
(CATR) is advantageous. 
● Proficiency in antenna simulation tools such as Grasp, FeKo, and SatSoft. 
● Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team. 
● Strong proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage.
