Position Overview:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our client's rapidly expanding team as a Design Development Engineer within the Fluidic Controls product line. You will play a critical role in serving our international customer base by designing, developing, and industrializing fluidic control solutions for various space-based propulsion applications. Key Responsibilities:
- Designing fluid system components, including electro-mechanical valves and mechanisms.
- Full participation in customer programs as a designated development engineer.
- Creating assembly and test procedures for development and qualification hardware.
- Generating technical documentation adhering to company and customer Quality standards.
- Providing input in engineering design in compliance with Quality standards AS9100 and ISO9001.
- Generating design and compliance documents using CAD, finite element, and/or data acquisition packages.
- Supporting the company's commitment to safe working practices, both on-site and in design principles.
- Assisting with related engineering activities, such as propulsion systems and chemical rocket engine developments.
Qualifications:
- A Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering degree (minimum 2:1).
- At least 2 years' post-qualification experience in the space industry.
- Proficiency in CAD (PTC Creo preferred) for 3D modeling.
- Experience in structural analysis using FE software for static and dynamic analysis.
- Knowledge of test rig design, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Effective stakeholder management skills.
- Strong IT proficiency (Microsoft suite).
- Familiarity with aerospace product design, manufacture, and testing.
- Understanding of valve, mechanism, or propulsion designs.
- Experience with documentation management and control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
- Ability to set and achieve objectives within deadlines and budgets.
- Knowledge of clean room practices and equipment.
- Strong understanding of safe working practices, including high-pressure gas systems.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
