Position Overview:

As part of the Electronics Department, you will be responsible for designing and testing FPGA firmware for space applications. Our electronic units control high-precision motors, actively reduce vibrations, and process high-resolution image data and sensor signals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and define requirements for FPGA designs.
  • Develop design architecture and break down requirements into functional blocks.
  • Implement FPGA designs and define necessary constraints.
  • Create design documentation in compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Develop and execute test benches for RTL and timing simulations.
  • Perform formal verification of FPGA designs, including timing analysis, code coverage, and coding rule checks.
  • Support FPGA integration on target hardware.
  • Define verification concepts and plans.
  • Conduct FPGA verification and testing on target hardware.
  • Program test hardware for automated execution of hardware test cases.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Technical University / University of Applied Sciences).
  • Several years of professional experience in VHDL design for synthesis and behavioural modelling, preferably in the space industry.
  • Proficiency in using state-of-the-art design and simulation tools (e.g., Libero, Modelsim).
  • Experience with FPGA design and verification according to ECSS-E-ST-20-40 and ECSS-Q-ST-60-02 standards.
  • Familiarity with mitigating single event effects caused by radiation.
  • Experience in implementing and verifying FPGA-based signal processing and control algorithms.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
