Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to join their growing Engineering team,
playing a vital role in the development and delivery of next-generation engines and
propulsion systems. This permanent position will support the engineering model and full
system delivery of innovative engines within a dynamic and ambitious environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership and responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of complete engineering model engines/systems and subsequent engine/system models.
  • Review and interpret higher-level requirements and translate them into engine model/system-level requirements.
  • Generate and maintain Compliance Matrices and Design Verification Compliance Matrices.
  • Identify key components and suppliers; generate component-level requirements.
  • Provide inputs to Manufacturing and Assembly Plans and review associated processes and procedures.
  • Review manufacturing and build data and provide necessary approvals.
  • Develop engine model/system test plans.
  • Coordinate and prepare documentation for key project milestone reviews, including EQSR, MPCB, PCB, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, DRB, etc.
  • Review relevant equipment data and EIDPs.
  • Contribute engineering input into the design and development of engine
    models/systems, including:
    - Producing and supporting the generation of designs and technical drawings.
    - Performing functional and mechanical analyses to justify engine model/system designs.
    - Analysing test and development data to confirm performance and compliance.
  • Provide support for testing of engine models/systems.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure accurate technical assessments.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline with at least three years of related industrial experience.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of bipropellant rocket engines and thrusters.
  • Experience in thermal analysis and regeneratively cooled combustion chamber design.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and machining processes.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Thorough understanding of safe working practices.
  • Ability to produce, interpret, and review requirements and related design needs.
  • Proficiency in PC-based applications and familiarity with CAD, LabView, and related design tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with various levels of stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver project outcomes on time and within budget.
