Position Overview:

Our client seeks a highly motivated Procurement Manager to join our project team for a satellite initiative. This role will be crucial in managing all procurement-related activities, ensuring that equipment and subsystems are acquired efficiently and in alignment with project goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project and contract management within the aerospace or space industry, coupled with excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all procurement activities within a core project team for a specific satellite project, including initiation, coordination, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Select suitable suppliers and subcontractors through negotiations and competitive processes, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Manage a team of subcontract managers, overseeing the preparation of tender documentation (RFPs, ITTs, draft contracts) and organizing Tender Evaluation Boards, both with and without customer participation.
  • Negotiate Change Requests, manage Contract Change activities, and supervise contract compliance concerning quality, time, and costs.
  • Conduct regular supplier visits across Europe and worldwide, participating in project reviews and progress meetings as required.
  • Report on procurement progress and status to the project manager and the Head of Project Procurement Management.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or comparable qualifications.
  • Several years of project management experience with an emphasis on financial and contract management, preferably in the space industry.
  • High level of technical affinity to understand technical requirements and specifications.
  • Self-confidence, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and enhanced analytical and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of German is preferable.
